"No one should have to suffer illness because they cannot afford medication. Therefore, the Northeast Tennessee Dispensary of Hope will provide needed medication to those receiving medical care in Washington County, TN, who cannot, due to financial needs or catastrophic circumstances, afford their prescribed medications."
What is Northeast TN Dispensary of Hope?

A non-profit charitable pharmacy modeled after other similar successful pharmacies throughout the state.

We will dispense medications to patients at no charge if they qualify for services

We will also help patients enroll in Patient Assistance Programs with participating pharmaceutical companies

To qualify, the patient must be :

Uninsured - no prescription drug coverage of any kind

Have an income of 150% of Federal Poverty Guidelines or less

Be a resident of Washington County, TN for at least six months, be an established at Johnson City Downtown Clinic, Washington County Health Department, Appalachian Mountain Project Access, or Limestone Medical Center, or in some instances have a qualifying discharge from a Washington County, TN facility (excluding emergency room and quick care visits).
What medications will Dispensary of Hope carry?

NO CONTROLLED SUBSTANCES

No birth control (may be obtained at local Health Department)

Brand name medications:
- will come from distribution center out of Nashville, TN (on a first come, first serve basis)
- are primarily donated samples from physician offices

Generic medications, insulin, syringes, meters, and strips purchased by DOH

DOH has a very LIMITED BUDGET for the above products. Patients' prescriptions will be filled on a first come, first serve basis. Our goal is to assist as many patients as possible.
